Mr. Arthur offers families educational apps to help youngsters in their academic and personal development. We recommend in this article Khan academy which we integrate into our reward mechanics (Kids will have to spend time on handpicked educational apps to unlock entertainment time on their device).

Khan academy is an online educational platform whose mission is to deliver free academic content, accessible to all on a variety of devices: computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform is packed with instructional videos and exercises in a wide range of subjects including math, science, history, and more…

The organization was founded in 2008 by educator Salman Khan, who was initially motivated to create the platform to help his young cousin with her math homework. Since its inception, Khan Academy has grown exponentially, with millions of users from all over the world accessing its content every month.
Khan Academy has been widely recognized for its innovative approach to education. In 2012, the platform was named one of the 50 best websites by Time Magazine, and in 2014, Khan received a TED Award for his work with the platform.
In addition to its use in traditional classrooms, Khan’s solution has also been adopted by a number of schools and districts as part of their formal curriculum.

One of the main features of the foundation is that it allows learners to progress at their own pace, with personalized recommendations and tailored feedback based on their results in quizzes and exercises.
In this personalized approach, each user can create their own account and define their learning goals and objectives.
An additional feature that resonates with Mr. Arthur’s values allows parents to create or add to their children’s pre-existing accounts.
Parents are thus able to tutor or follow their child’s progress from a dashboard.

As a use case, Alain has two children, Claire (13 yo) and Patrick (8 yo). Claire told her father about Khan academy because she already has an account there to improve her understanding of math.
Alain found the initiative of his elder daughter great and has just created an account where he is attached to his daughter to be able to follow her evolution.
He also took the opportunity to create an account for his son Patrick with whom he wants to push the experience further by assigning lessons and homework because Khan academy also offers content for younger children.
